Hilly Hundred?
I've done the Hilly and really had a good time. You've got a lot of time to get ready for it. I'd say just start putting some miles on your bike. It will take some time for your body to get use to the seat and handlebars. Make sure you ride on different terrain so the hills won't be so bad on you. The Hilly comes by it's name honestly. There are so many different rides before the Hilly next year, you should look at doing some of them too. Also, go by a local bike shop and get properly fitted for you bike if you haven't done so already.

Thanks so much. I really appreciate the information, particularly from someone that has done it. I have a Trek bike (hybrid) that I have been using for a couple years. I was fitted for it when we purchased our bikes.
I ride for about 60 to 90 mins a day, six days a week. But I have been going for time lapsed and not distance. Also, I have not been riding on different terrains so the hills scare me. But I need to change my exercise focus so I thought this would be a good challenge.

You're off to a really good start. A hybrid is a great way to go. The thing about the Hilly is that it's a ride and not a race. It's set up for you to take your time and enjoy the event. When I've done it I've seen people walk the hills that were too steep to climb on their bike. It really is a great event. Oh you should check out the exercise and fitness board here on OH. It's a really good place to get info. and inspiration.

I had never heard of the Hilly Hundred until this year when a ton of the riders of the Hilly came in our McD's for breakfast. Sold a ton of hotcakes and McGriddles over those two days. If you guys ride in it let me know so we can plan something for breakfast at the McD's in Martinsville next year.
